Echinodorus grandiflorus is best used as a background plant in the aquarium. Echinodorus grandiflorus can also be grown emersed as a water garden plant and will reach several feet in height. It is even tolerant enough of dry air that it can be used as a house plant. Small white flowers are born on long stalks, from which plantlets of Echinodorus grandiflorus will form. Like all Echinodorus sp., it is a heavy feeder that does best with regular fertilization.
